Obviously, this doesn't apply to you, but just wanted to correct a frequent misperception: you can be illegal to work and STILL pay taxes, and be paid properly with all withholdings. I got paid like that for years, not as a nanny, obviously. People often assume that if you're illegal to work, you don't pay taxes, and that simply isn't so. IRS and USCIS do not have a cross-enforcement relationship.

People exaggerate a lot around here. I have been paid in cash, I have never had any problem nor my employers. It's just a temporary situation that will be fixed soon, but for know, it is what it is.
