Some agencies will tear you down, just so you'll accept a low paying job to make their "match". As long as you make it past their "guaranteed" 30 days, or whatever it is, they don't care.

OP here

Thank you.

I just joined Westside and Elizabeth Rose. VIP and I have been playing phone tag, but hopefully I'll meet with them soon.

What are the good ones you found ?

Where is that?

Seattle and the surrounding area (the highest paying jobs tend to be on the East Side - Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond)

Where I'm located -- the higher paying, better benefits etc job are thru agencies (mostly. But than you get those crazy families there too).

I still have about 6 months left before my charge starts preschool but I've already started joining agencies and sending my resume, hoping to join, out. One agency offers temp work like weekend, wedding or event, and so on. So I'm glad I got with them - so I can pick up extra things when needed and build a rapport with them before looking for full time.

Funny that you don't want to say which city.

Los Angeles. Why does it matter and why is it funny

In my opinion and from personal experience, families that go through agencies are more invested in finding great childcare for their families.

They are more willing to put the extra dollars in it if it means they will get someone top notch.

They also tend to pay the highest salaries as well as pay on the books.
