Why would agencies care if they set up an illegal "off the books" situation? They still get paid. It's between the candidate and family. Agencies won't get into trouble. Just like places like care.com condoning the illegal under minimum wage jobs. They don't get into any trouble either. It's sad and sick, but it happens. I know of 3 TOP agencies that condon setting these illegal situations up. I would love to name them publically.

PP, you are wrong...unfortunately. Some agencies DO provide candidates to families willing to break the law, and pay off the books. I know of many actually.

I may be wrong, but I think agencies only send out nannies who work on the books.

Hee, that's funny, 20:06. I'm not sure where you live, but in DC most families pay on the books, for obvious reasons, and don't need to pay a premium to follow the law.
