Op here-

By the way, after this conversation took place, I sat charge down and made her take out her homework. She's only in first grade, so there wasn't much. About half way through, she started whining about how she didn't want to finish, and she knows mommy told ME to do do it. But I just made her keep going. I did tell her I would put it away for her while she got ready for bed.

Then how come you don't know 'nanny' is not a proper noun?

Ooohhh. Aren't you a clever one? My phone automatically capitalized it for me. Sue me.

I hope you told the parents that it goes against your teacher-code of ethics or some such shit.

Are you KIDDING ME????

Like tell me that is a joke.

If your kid got extra homework as punishment maybe you should be looking into your childs behavior rather than excusing it and giving him a way out everytime he does something wrong. I would absolutely enforce the punishment at home if he got in trouble at school. Absolutely. You are setting yourself and your child up for a world of hurt when he gets older and life isn't all about him and you bailing him out constantly.

Concept your kids already know? Practice makes perfect. Thats life, honey. Your kid is going to have sit through many lessons that they already know, how are you going to rescue him from that in high school?
So silly.
You are just as worse as this MB if this story is real. Setting your kids up for a world of hurt.

OP, you need to get out of there ASAP. You can't fix parents who refuse your help. Stop wasting your valuable time and efforts with them. Another family needs you and will work with you.

+1. It is not a good situation when you have such serious issues with their parenting style. The kids will sense the rift, and your efforts really are wasted. Get out. There are lots of more reasonable parents to work for.

I agree with 10:53, the issue is between the child's school teacher and the parent.
But given the details here, the problems are much bigger and a nanny doesn't have any hope of helping here.
So just leave.

Op here: yes. They're terribly spoiled. And they never have consequences for anything. For example, I told their mother the youngest one went into a full rage when I told her I was bedtime, so I put her in a time out chair. She was fine after, and life went on. But mb laughed when I described what her daughter did, and was upset when I told her I put her kid in time out. She told me "she's just having a bad day. She doesn't need to be punished for it". Oh, come on.

Because i really doubt a parent made the nanny do their kids homework.
