I have a care.com account. My background is squeaky clean. No criminal history or anything but my ssn comes back unverified. I think care.com sometimes scams people or their background check are not very reliable. It tells you some reasons why your ssn would come back as unverified which is a crock bc I've never changed my name and I'm pretty sure I know how to spell my name properly but it's still saying the same things. Care.com suck as far as that goes and instead of people actually interviewing they rely on that crap. I've had zero luck with that site.

She's been working on the books, she sent you a copy of her SS card--I would trust that over care.com, because who knows how often they update their systems, etc. Go ahead and do the background check.

I'll be the bigger person here but your comment is so rude. I'm new to this whole process - give me a break, will you? I didn't go on this site to get attacked.

I asked for constructive advice and asked who _you_ would recommend to pay out of pocket. I have no problem going outside of care.com but what's to say the organization I choose to do an independent check also won't have flimsy checks. Please only respond if you're going to provide something useful or constructive.
