It doesn't sound like the child is acting typical in all ways. If the child had parents that discouraged this behavior, then the child would know it is not acceptable and while it might occasionally happen, it wouldn't be a daily (or multiple times daily) thing.
I do agree that the OP doesn't seem to be very good at her job if she had to ask how to stop this behavior from happening. Kids can learn how to NOT do stuff with nanny but if parents allow it, to still do it with them. That's why we sometimes hear parents complaining about different things, like how their child won't go down for a nap/bedtime without them doing X while the nanny can get them down just fine.
