Plus, he may just be tired from a long and hard day at work.

As long as MB and you communicate well, don't sweat it.

Op here. Yes, he has an office job... I'm sure he is stressed, but he still behaves that way when I arrive in the AM when MB is already at work. Just kind of brusque and awkward.

Thanks again for ideas everyone. Like I said, I'm letting it go. All this input put my mind at ease...good to know it's him and not me. I'll stick with communicating with MB on kid stuff.

Don't take is personally. This is probably how he is. I definitely know that I have a better speaking relationship with the Nanny than my DH. She tells me a lot more of what is going on with the DC than she tells his dad. I know it is definitely part him. He mainly just cares that the kids had a great day and is alive and happy.

Do you know what his job is? My husband has a very intense job, and just can't interact much when he walks in the door. I, on the other hand, am a nanny and can't wait to start an adult conversation. I had to learn to give him a half-hour when he comes home or he won't hear anything I say. Is it possible that he is just tired at the end of the day? Or this in combination with things that are already posted here?

Other days he chats away about the most random things like reusable icecubes and how stupid they are! It really depends on the day. It really depends. I just tell him basics if I tell him anything. He aways asks how long they napped on days when MB is working late. Otherwise sometimes I tell him. Other times I just say good bye to the kids. He doesn't say thank or bye or anything. He just says kids go give nanny a hug! Then the kids sit on the doorstep and wave goodbye

Just don't let it effect you

OP here. Thanks for responses everyone, especially PP. MB literally said the same thing about her husband! What are the odds?

Anyway, I'm not going to let it bother me anymore. I do my job well and his awkwardness is not my problem.

Pp here. I used to take it offensively but I just know that it's how he is. We were home together for the first 4 months of employment... Still some days we would chat and other days we wouldn't!
