Anyways, OP, you seemed a little too stalkerish with the nanny. You know the car seat brand, bottle brand, etc. Did the nanny happen to wear a hoodie and had a bag of skittles?

oh wow. come on.

Reading this comments about these nannies on DCUm makes me glad I can't afford a nanny because I def would not want a nanny who thinks it is ok to ignore a baby and tellin OP is no e of her business. Isn't a nanny suppose to care for the well being of children regardless if it is your charge or not?! Gosh you nannies with the non sense comments makes me sick- and I am a nanny myself.

Op I think if there were more people in this world who cared more about children's well being in general a lot could be avoided. Thanks for taking your time and trying to reach to the mother of this child. The world needs more people like to watch over these 'nannies' who are not in for the well being of the child but for the money.

When you guys do the whole "is this your nanny?" thing how do you know that it's a nanny and not a family member, friend of the mother, or mother who doesn't look exactly like her child?

We need some of you great wistle blowers here in Texas. Once I was at a park with one of my charges, I saw a nanny leave a newborn in the strolier and walk to the other side of the park with the two year old. If I was to ever run into the mom you better believe I would tell her. And by the way, the nanny was on her phone the whole time. If we had a forum like that I would for sure post something just like the OP did.

I know this sounds like a stupid question but since you can't identity any other characteristics or features this woman's language is very important. In Haiti they speak a different Dialect of French.

There are also black people in MANY other countries. France actually has tons. She could also be from Canada. Or she could be from New Orleans.

I don't think it matters that much where she might be from. When you don't know a person's name and you are trying to describe visible characteristics, skin tone and spoken accent are the more obvious traits. You could add length/color of hair, but that's not always so clear.

Can you explain why? And also, if there are those of us who are MBs who would value this knowledge even if it turned out we were ok with the observed behavior, why can't you the MBs who don't like these posts just skip them and let those of us who do use them as we'd like?

The only people who don't like these posts are fellow lazy nannies who don't want people to write about them.

I'm a host mom of an au pair and I greatly value these posts. If someone saw my au pair doing something they thought wasn't right, I would be thrilled that they had told me. Even if my au pair had been doing me a huge favor by watching my kids last-minute on a day she was planning on studying, say, and what you saw at the Starbucks was totally reasonable, I would still thank you. I would explain to you what the situation was and that would be that.

Now if this was my au pair and she was supposed to be taking are of my baby, I would be pretty unhappy.

OP isn't saying that yes absolutely this is a bad nanny. There may be a perfectly good explanation. But I still think its important to post these kinds of things just in case.

As a mom, I honestly wouldn't have a problem with reading this even if she were my nanny. My nanny was finishing a few courses getting her masters and spent a few hour chunks at Starbucks cramming with my infant while on the clock. I know she cares for my baby greatly and you stated she fed the baby and was rocking the baby. I honestly would be ok with this. (Also, every baby is different. DD1 had to be burped 3 times during a feeding, dd2 who is now 5 months old really hasn't needed to be burped at all since 2 months. I can feed in the carseat while out and about and not worry about it.)
