I'm a mom, with a husband, and one thing I would LOVE for him to to do is to plan a surprise date night for me where he makes all the arrangements--arranges for the sitter, makes the dinner reservations, etc. Maybe this man is trying to something like that for his wife?
To me it would be odd that he didn't mention any of the above. Sorry. It's just suspicious.
But if we haven't heard back from OP, she was a troll anyway.
