NP, I am having the same situation as you. I have no idea other activities to do with my charge this summer. I have been brainstorming ideas

I'm the one that quoted OP directly above your post and I didn't do it to point out grammar errors. You'll note tat I quoted just as many correct sentences and single words. I did it to point out how little OP told us and how ridiculous it is to then fly off the rail and say no wonder the human race is in trouble because we weren't able to read her mind.

OP, I am with you--responders are so bitchy most of the time. Don't worry about it. Oh, and to all the PP's who think it's "funny" or "clever" to make fun of the way OP writes/talks (like the one poster who "couldn't resist" or others who put OP's grammatically incorrect sentences in quotes in their own posts just to make some sort of point) who do YOU think you are? Do YOU speak more than one language? It's clear OP does, and we were still able to understand the gist of her post, were we not? Anyway. Some people....*smh*
OP-from what I gather, it seems the most aggravating part of your job must be your DB who works from home and how you feel you have to "get permission" from him for everything!! That sucks!! I would hate that.

So funny that people forget that when you post, the responders only know what you posted and nothing else about you. It doesn't mean that the "humane race is in trouble" that we all responded with a collective "we don't get the issue?"
OP, you could be the best nanny ever, but all we knew was that you have three kids between 5 and 10 (so kids that are relatively self-sufficient) for 9 hours a day and that you have a new problem this year - you "can't even plan any really outgoings" because "the 2 older kids got signed up for swim team" from 1-2pm. And that you can't use any electronics and it would be really "nice" for you to watch a movie "when the weather is miserable." After that intro, you asked for ideas on how to keep your sanity this summer.
So from our perspective, you are having trouble because in a 9-hour day with older kids you have a 1-2pm commitment and you can't entertain them around that hour without a TV.

Just picture the next situation they come home from a vacation. Their flight got cancelled. The kids are up since 5AM. The mom was working from home that day. The youngest one is totally out of control. He is hysterical that he wants to be with his mom. Everybody is on a short fuse. I try to be calm between the mountain load of laundry... Raining outside and 3 kids stretched to the end. I started to saw with the oldest one, making a puzzle with the middle one and reading with the youngest one. This was one of the day when it was 0 willingness from their part to cooperate. If you read it well my post I said I'm not at all a TV person. BUT every once a while it helps to sit down a good movie where we can settle the nerves and laugh together on some silliness. When I left yesterday I heard the father telling the kids "I see how tired you are guys lets watch some movie and have popcorn." He was supposed to spend only 2 hours with his kids.....
And just for a side note, today we went for cray fishingIt was fun. Sometimes some people come here just to vent a little. Maybe we just had a bad "hair day".
And sincerely how many of you is able to spend 9 straight hours with 3 kids ( everyone of them wants all your attention ) per day basically without any adult interaction. ( I only pick up my phone if it is very must.... rarely texting and never online) Because I keep the family rules and my professional rules.
Given the information your first post included OP most of the answers were spot on. Don't get mad because you didn't get the pity party you were expecting. And yes, a lot of us care for three children. I have a newborn and twin 3 year olds, who are at different stages then your older children, but IMO still the same level of difficulty.
