I hate heat too, so I feel for you OP. I do like the pool and water though, so I'd be in the water with them and wearing a big floppy hat and gauzy swimsuit cover when I wasn't in the water. Good luck!

As stated several times I don't mind being at the pool for a few hours. And I'm certain if it aren't for the required lessons and it was JUST for play we'd only be at the pool 2-3 hours I'm ok with that. But 6-7 hours just seems excessive to be in the heat.

I think you're wrong about this. The kids would still want to be spend the day at the pool or worse just outside where there is o heat relief.

10:27 here. I AGREE with you, OP. Your boys sound like spoiled brats and the parents are supporting that behavior. Either get another job or put up with more of the same. It's up to you.

OP, I don't know what you are expecting us to say. I think people have given you good suggestions (coming up with an alternative activity) and you've struck that down. If you approach your MB and complain about being at the pool, she'll likely find another nanny who is fine being at the pool all day (and there are many of them from my experience as a lifeguard). So you can either start looking for a new job, or you can just suck it up. You've struck down the only reasonable suggestion that PPs have given you.

As long as you keep putting sunscreen on, its fine. Its not like the kids are demanding McDonalds 3 times a day and want to sit inside playing video games all day. although it sounds like the OP would prefer this!

Part of being a kid is enjoying summer. They are over scheduled, in school for long days with little recess and PE anymore, and don't have an opportunity to just be outside and play all day other than summer.

So your solution is to go from one extreme to another? Great!
While you're at the pool, OP, you can get yourself a new job. Use the opportunity to see who's looking for a nanny. GL.

OK than honestly you should probably just look for another job.

I think that's fine but for as long as I've known MB my suggestions don't matter. I've been in several situations where we've had agreements to things that instantly changed at any given point.

Lessons are from 8-11:30 then however many extra hours at the pool. Then more lessons from 4:30-6.

So what do you think of PPs suggestions to come up with an alternate activity than staying at the pool for that long?

No at 2 today someone is coming by the house. The next lessons start about 4:30

Yikes, they have swimming lessons from 8:30-11:30 and more lessons in the afternoon? I'm assuming 2 oclock since that is when you say they have another activity. How old are they? Also, how far away do you live from the pool? is it worth it to go home at 11:30 (more like 11:45 by the time you get loaded in the car) only to have to be back by 2 (probably 1:45 in order to get ready for their lesson)?
