DH and I are new to the area and are trying to figure out where to find a nanny for our DC. Alot of people find their nannies through friends, but we still don't have too many connections in the area yet.

We need a PT nanny for drop off and pick up from preschool, and for after school hours since we both work and get home around 5:30. Any ideas?

We live in Fairfax.

Also, the rate for someone that doesn't drive doesn't always change (as in being lower due to that) if you are in an area with good public transit and you don't have a preference of whether the nanny drives or takes metro. Some parents actually prefer nannies to use public transit in cities where it is good and fairly reliable, and parking can be a hassle (not to mention expensive).

As in any profession, the few at the top command a higher hourly rate than their "average" counterparts. Parents who can afford them know they don't need to be constantly worried about any aspect their child's care.
