A lot of chores? The week has 5 days. While he naps she will have to fold laundry 3 days a week, unload the DW one day and vacuum on Fridays. He naps for 1.5 hours. She'll have time to watch tv if she wants to.

If you want someone there at 6am be prepared to pay more.

Why do you nannies demand higher pay for having to get up at 6AM or having part time hours? Many people have to get up early and many seek part time work. Stop making your own rules. I definitely would pay extra because nanny needs to get to work early. If your not an early bird then look for 2nd or 3rd shift jobs. Lazy and entitled.

Excuse me?

This is neither lazy nor entitled, it is the price I have assigned to my opportunity to sleep in. It is not worth it to me, nor to most nannies, to get up that early (4:30/5am for a 6am start) for less. You know how people talk about what their time is worth? That is what my time is worth. You don't have to employ me, that's fine, but you don't get to insult me and say that I can decide for myself what my mornings, or time at all, is worth. Because I do, just like you and everybody else. If absolutely no one would employ me, trust me, my time would be worth less, but that isn't the scenario I find myself in so why should I change anything?

Whenever I am employed by a great MB I seem to agree with all the mbs on this site (for the most part) But when I don't like my own mb, I never like any on here. Weird how that works huh? It's just all the bitter nannies OP, not all nannies are so harsh.

I think $15 an hour sounds reasonable since its part-time and early morning hours. Sorry you got attacked for no reason OP, some of these people are off their rockers.

Some posters on here get on any parent who posts, whether it's warranted or not. Bitter nannies presumably.

I think 12-14 would be a good range.

OP here and I'm baffled!!!!!

What in the world is wrong with you people?????????? Where in the world did you get that this is my ad? I'm simply asking how much a person doing these chores should be paid.

Obviously I want someone who will love my son and care for him, foster my daughter's independence while helping her to get ready for the day, etc. I just didn't think it was necessary to state that here when inquiring about salary... wow!

Look, if you can find what you want at minimum wage, go for it. Problem is that so many employers of bargan nannies keep whining about their poor luck. Ok. Better luck next time, huh? If you want better, you pay better. Haven't you heard?

PP again - What I meant to say is I definitely would NOT pay extra because nanny needs to get to work early.
