It is very sad, but I don't do my job out of the kindness of my heart. I have to support myself.
Exactly. I also don't get this idea of entitlement to have a nanny. Not everyone can afford one on one care, and the people providing the one on one care deserve a living wage. If you can't afford that, don't do your child or potential nanny the disservice.

PP here and I'm a nanny too, also doing it to support myself and not for charity, but it still bums me out. When I read these I wish I was wealthy enough to start a high quality daycare for low income parents. It's clear there are a lot of families who need help.

We would drop him off around 7:15 or 7:30am and pick him up around 5:15 or 5:30 (sometimes earlier a couple of days out the week). I know the rate isn't much, but we were hoping to get someone older (possibly retired) who enjoys children and could use the additional income. We pay on time every week - no delays or excuses. We currently have a caregiver, however we'll be moving 30 - 35 minutes away from her area.
What is she offering for a rate? Was it in the title/headline?
Oops...it's $65-$85/week
