If the puppy is 7months, it should be fully house trained. If it isn't, that is the suggestion I would give your MB. A dog walker is also a good idea.

I am a nanny and think the idea of a weekly bonus while the dog is in the puppy stage is a good idea. I'm sorry, but a mani/pedi or a nice dinner wouldn't equate to all of the additional responsibilities a puppy would bring. even if she is on board, her day is going to drastically change and she should be compensated for that

I look after two children who are at primary school so their homework is pretty intense and takes up a lot of attention whilst doing this I have a puppy running around and causing havoc as she is getting no attention. The childrens Dad is away a lot so the puppy only goes on long walks a few days a week. I feel very sorry for the dog which causes me added stress! Because of this stress I may show up early to work (unpaid) so walk her myself as it makes my life easier and the puppy happier. I am also training her, toilet and house! She is very stubborn and because she has not had the around the clock training a puppy needs she is still biting!!! Which does not help with the children, again it causes added strain. I have lost a number of clothing because she as jumped and bitten a hole in them, the parents are aware and have done or said nothing! They are sympathic but it just doesn't feel like enough. I am unhappy at the moment and only because of this puppy. Can anyone help me as the family our lovely and I want to continue working with them.
Many thanks
Kay

Tell them that you need a raise or the puppy needs a dog trainer and walker. No one is going to offer you anything if you dont ask and stand up for yourself. Set up a meeting and explain in detail the added stress. Be prepared to leave the position if they arent willing to compensate you. You do not need to work for employers who show no respect for you.

MB here. I'm not sure I would give a raise, but I would certainly give a bonus or something - especially during housetraining times.

OP I would suggest investing in doggy/puppy daycare or getting a dog walker to assist. As others have mentioned, a puppy is not a puppy forever. In 6 months the puppy will probably require very little work, unless you need her to take the dog on walks and clean up after. I have a nanny and hired a separate dog walker to avoid the confusion over how to compensate her for the dog.. I also have our dog in doggy daycare 2/3 days a week so he's pooped on the other days. It seems to work out well. Yes its added expense but it's better than making a long term commitment over a pay raise. it would be very hard and awkward to go back and renegotiate in a few months when there are little, if any, dog duties.

Really....?? A gift card, in your opinion, trumps constant bonuses?
I don't care how "proud" you are- everyone likes bonuses.

I did not say that I prefer a gift card to a bonus, rather that I would not be insulted by one. The idea of demanding or expecting a bonus for every little thing is ridiculous. My yearly bonus is perfectly fine thanks.

Editing your posts goes a long way. A puppy is not an "ounch" of responsibility, it is a ton. The nanny is going above and beyond her required duties and a gift card would be an insult. Way to try to troll though...
