OP here - to update all, for reasons other than mentioned above (nanny brings another charge to work with her 2 out of 3 days/week and doesn't adjust her charge to me), I have decided to pursue a nanny share arrangement, which I'm realizing is MUCH less expensive. The other family has a great nanny who does all the laundry and cleans and we will share hosting arrangements. I'm tired of asking the nanny to do what she offered to do, and tired of paying her to take care of someone else's baby in my house when she's supposed to be caring for my kids.

I didn't realize how much I was really being taken advantage of until posting on this board and exploring other options. thanks to all for the advice!

Because it sounded like you had cycled through several since you have employed at least 3 so far. I am an MB and I'd tend to more highly value advice from someone who has been able to keep a relatively stable nanny situation since that's something I put a big priority on, at the expense of having things done perfectly.

Um, ok. Nothing I said in my post gave any indication that the reason those nannies were no longer with us had anything to do with whether they did the laundry or not. I never told the OP to fire the nanny, but do you not think she should discuss it with her?

Because it sounded like you had cycled through several since you have employed at least 3 so far. I am an MB and I'd tend to more highly value advice from someone who has been able to keep a relatively stable nanny situation since that's something I put a big priority on, at the expense of having things done perfectly.
