"Hi Families,
I'm a 23-year-old female college student who has had a passion for working with children since i was 14. I'm looking to relocate to the NYC around the beginning of June (flexible) and I'm hoping to find a job doing what I love which is working with children and there families. I'm currently in school part studying pediatric nursing. I knew this was what I wanted to do since 2nd grade. I have 8 years of nanny/babysitting experience with children from newborn old to 13 year of age. I have worked at a home day care center watching children ages newborn to 14 years of age. Also I have worked as a live out nanny. I have certification in First-Aid, CPR/AED and also I am trained for Infant SIDS.
With me your baby will do things such as reading books, tummy time and motor skills, developing a sleep schedule, working on crawling and walking, singing songs together, ABC's, taking walks, bathing, feeding, clothing, and preparing bottles. With other children I love doing things with children such as going to parks/playgrounds, going to and hosting play dates talking and, baking cookies, reading, writing, play dates and etc. My goal as a nanny is to devlop a kind and loving relationship with every child I care for and their familes and to encourage them to become whatever the want to be just like my second grade teacher did. I am mature, reliable with a positive attitude and a great personality, and also excellent references. I love to interact with children and do not believe in sitting them in front of the TV. I'm also open to a nanny share. I absolutely love children, meeting new people and I am very patient."
I'm the PP who said to ditch the second paragraph. Here's how I would word your bio. Other people may very well have better ideas, but this is what I would do.
I've had a passion for working with children since I was 14 and am looking for a full time nanny position where I can put my passion and experience to use. I have eight years of experience working with kids first as a babysitter, then in a daycare and more recently as a nanny which I love. I am CPR certified, trained in first aid and in SIDS. I am currently working toward a degree in nursing and hope to become a pediatric nurse when I am done.
I have experience with infants as well as older kids. Some things I like to do include helping infants reach developmental milestones, read and attend story times, go to parks and playgroups, baking and cooking projects etc. in addition to normal nanny duties such as laundry and keeping the toys clean and in good repair. I love children and strive to develop a kind and nurturing relationship with each child. I am a reliable and punctual self starter with great references who are happy to talk with you.
I currently live in the DC metro area but am looking to relocate to the NYC area in June though I have a flexible time table. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

she's not applying for a teaching job. she does need to get control if her spelling before becoming a nurse tho. A misspelled word could be potentially life threatening in the medical field.Anonymous wrote:No one cares what you were doing in 2nd grade. Their and there are not the same. I think she means improve. Really, OP. PLEASE. Get someone to clean up your profile. You're 23 and in college, and still making a LOT of mistakes.

a professional picture
background check
at least one review
fill out ALL the sections and EDIT!
Your Bio doesn't flow well and needs some serious editing. Have someone else look it over.
If your relocating to NYC a driving license won't effect job offers.
Have a professional resume, portfolio and references that you can email easily.
Sign up with online mom groups/blogs like park slope and create an ad on there
You need to have a definite living arrangement set up that you can give parents the general area you will be living at (NYC is big) UNLESS your looking for live in.
High paying jobs in NYC are found via Agency normally.
+1

Anonymous wrote:You have lots of spelling and grammar errors, missing words etc which is a turn off. Also, it's just way too long. Chop it in half and get rid of the whole second paragragh. It doesn't add anything. None of the things you list are special...it's all stuff you should be expected to do.
