$14./hr is not enough $$$ for what you want, no matter where you live. You can keep hiring and firing, or you can pay an outstanding rate, for outstanding work, and give your children some stability.

WRONG! That is a very fair rate and everything OP lists are regular nanny duties. OP's nanny is not outstanding; she isn't even good. OP needs to fire her bad nanny. The stability argument is nonsense. Kids do fine with transitions, especially if they are caused by a bad nanny. Kids deserve great caregivers.

Agreed with the others. This is not a good nanny and definitely not a professional.

+1

OP I think having heard more than your best solution is to fire her and hire someone else. She does sound crazy and not at all invested in her responsibilities.

Oh please you need to remember that nannies don't need a special degree. This is one of the only jobs where you can make several bucks over min wage without any type of skills so 14 per hour is great. Nice try!

OP hired a bimbo. Better luck next time?

Get real. OP isn't asking for anything out of the ordinary. The nanny seems cray cray. You never ever say you are going to spank a kid, complain about putting kids' clothes out, complain about watching the kids while they use the potty, not be able to do basic tasks within a 10 hour work day, blah blah blah.

I just don't understand why OP hasn't fired the nanny and looked for someone who is actually competent.

What makes you think twins are nothing out of the ordinary?

The idiot nanny complains about the twins but when OP offered to let nanny go and write a nice reference letter, nanny gets freaked out and wants more hours. No one is holding a gun to her head and she is being very contradictory.

She's not a good nanny. I am also a nanny for young twins. I get more than that done in my 9 hour day and still have some down time. Also, if your grocery bill went up that much when she did the shopping I bet she was doingb her own shopping on your dime. Finding a new nanny is stressful but this one is clearly not a good fit.

She is burnt out or not a good fit.

I watch twins that are 11 months old and up until two weeks ago they only took two 30 min naps. (they now take two 1 hr & 15 min naps - they started this in their own - MB and I are loving it!)

I could do two dishwasher loads, two loads of laundry, prep all homemade organic food, clean up after the meals, dress the children and still have time to play, read, go in outings and just snuggle - in a 10 hour day.

I think she may have bad time management skills and also bad financial skills.
