I wouldn't hire a nanny who refused to work with a sick child.

Ha, I agree with you. It was always the case in every other job I had (for years). But in my current job, I stay with puking kids. Bosses do not come home, even when they are aware. Heck, the child will start puking during the night, and I show up the next morning with both of them leaving for work, informing me that he child has been puking, and goodbye. Nice.

I kind of can't believe this is even a discussion. How far removed are parents from their children that there needs to be debate whether or not a parent should be called to care for their own sick child? If my child was vomiting-calling for me or not-there is nothing that would take precedence, especially if I was already home! How sad for these children who need their parents to be asked to take care of them...

If you're on the clock then you'd clean the throw up lol, sorry. But if the child was crying for his dad then I'm sure he would of heard, right? I'd tell them only because the child is sick and not just crying for his parents for attention..

I would have told the father. He probably felt awful once he found out that DC was asking for him.

If you wanted to be really nice, since DB was cleaning, you could have offered to switch jobs with him for the afternoon so he didn't have to choose between one domestic duty and another.
