250/week for those kind of hours is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I don't know why on earth you would take that. You are worth more, and yes you can find a better paying nanny position.

And even though he only has the baby for a few hours, in the mornings he's wearing the same thing I left him in the day before. His diaper will be so soaked that his clothes are soaked. This morning I had to give him a bath as soon as he woke up because he was covered in pee!

I don't know. That's one thing that drives me crazy, she has 5 kids, and is pregnant again. She leaves the house at 6:00 a.m. and gets home at 5 or 6, even though she gets off work around 2:30. When she is home, she has the kids go off on weekend camping trips, and has them in all kinds of classes. I think it's great to let kids experience things and be social, but the kids don't like most of the stuff she makes them do, I really think she just has them in it so she doesn't have to be at home with them. There was one time the 1 year old was sick on Friday. When I got to work on Tuesday, he was still running a fever and coughing really bad. She called me and wanted me to stay an extra 2 hours with the other 4 kids so she could take him to the doctor even though I had already told her I had plans. I didn't mind staying if he had to go, but she had been off work the day before, all of the kids were in school, and yet she didn't bring him then. I was MAD. She works as a teacher almost an hour from home. By the time you add in gas prices and how much she pays me, she isn't making very much money. Her husband has a good job, I don't know why she can't just stay home and teach her own kids who are failing school... I have no problem with parents working when they need to, but I can't stand it when they work just so they won't be home with the kids... Especially when they keep having kids! If you don't want to be around kids, quit having them!

OP here. Sadly, I'm very serious. It real, and it's driving me crazy! I'd feel really bad if the kids get taken away, but I'll feel even worse if something ends up happening.. I know what I need to do, it's just hard to actualy do it :/

I am really hoping this is fake because if not, you should report them to CPS. Not even kidding. If it's NOT fake on the off-chance you are being sincere, I will say this:
1) Dont lock yourself in the bathroom to calm down. Instead, call up the mom immediately and let her know that you have an emergency and need her to come home as soon as possible. Or else you will be forced to call the police to come stay with her kids. When she gets home, tell her anything you want: The truth, that you have a family emergency, or that you frickin' have an infection in your ass that you need to go get checked out NOW, for all you should care.

2) LEAVE and never look back. Seriously. Not only is it beyond inappropriate treatment of an employee, it is also an unsafe, nasty and potentially hazardoud environment for you AND the kids you are in charge of.

Stand up for yourself. Are you dirt? Because that is what she is treating you like, you know. But "God don't make no dirt," [in regards to people, obviously ] So you can't stay with people who treat you as such. Period.

I'm not expecting a reference, I just feel bad quitting on a weekend when she'll only have 2 days to find a new sitter... I'm really thinking about doing it any way though. I just wish I could take the kids and leave her lol
(never would actually do that!) The one year old has had fever and swollen glands in his neck all week, but she refuses to take him to the doctor. Last week he had pink eye and is just now getting over it. Every morning when I get to work he's in the same outfit I put him in before I left and he's soaked. I don't think they change his diaper at all from the time I leave till the time I get back in the morning. He doesn't get bathed on the weekends... He had a diaper rash before I left on Christmas break, I'm pretty sure it was a yeast infection... When I got back, THREE WEEKS LATER, he STILL had the rash. It makes me feel sick to leave them :/

If something happens to one of the children, the parents may not be the only ones DCFS investigates whether or not you are there when an incident occurs. Unless quitting without a job lined up will leave you homeless, quit when you receive your pay. Don't think for a moment that they will give you a good reference. You took this position because you needed to work, not because you felt like volunteering your time. In your next position (assuming you look for one) make sure you charge by the hour or charge a flat rate for the first 40 hours and an hourly fee for additional time. Make sure that you and your next employer have a clear understanding of your duties before you start work.

I was hired to watch kids, not clean their crap. I'm already underpaid for watching two kids, they're lucky I even clean up after the kids!
