I was the first person to respond to your post, suggesting you sit her down and talk to her. It sounds like she was honest and your son is certainly old enough to report reliably on what he's seen. Are you okay with her texting while she's waiting in the car line or stopped at a light? I do both of those things myself, but don't even talk on a hands-free set when driving (I feel like it's too much of a distraction for me). I personally think you should tell her you appreciate her honesty, re-clarify your position, and move forward, as it doesn't sound like she's endangered anyone and was open with you when you asked - an EXCELLENT and essential component of an AP/HP relationship.

EVERYONE uses/checks their phone at least a few times an hour. WHY are you so crazy about this??????? I don't get it! She's good with the kids, she doesn't text IN FRONT of the kids (which isn't a big deal anyway)...Honestly, you are mean. I feel so bad for all of these AP's.

To say NO PHONE during work hours is definitely taking it too far. It's unfair that you can stalk the bill to see what she's doing.

Ask her not to text or drive, but DO NOT say it as if you're accusing her.

I don't really see the harm in texting while waiting to pick the kids up in the carpool line but I wouldn't want her texting at red lights with kids in the car. She should not have the phone out while kids are in the car. I would say to trust her if she really is good with the children. i don't think your child would lie to you about whether his nanny is texting while they are in the car. I would probably keep checking the phone bill to make sure that she definitely is telling you the truth but it sounds like she is being honest with you.
