I follow orders pretty closely. The only time I would refuse would be if it was actually dangerous for the child. I would then let them know, face to face, that I could not obey their direction. When they want my opinion about their decisions, they ask me what I think. I even call my MB if something comes up that she hasn't covered. When the child will not cooperate (won't nap, eat, etc.), I make a note of it so that they exactly what happened.

Yes, there are always rules you don't want to follow. You also make your own judgements. It's never quite black and white. Losing your own sense of what's right in a situation is never a good idea.

If you don't want to follow an instruction your employers give you, talk to them about it and make your case. If they still want you to do it, you'd better comply or you will be out of a job soon.

Derr OP.. Ofcourse you're disobeying orders. Keep it up and you'll be out of a job. It's not your kid and unless is life-dangering, do what he says.

My charges learned VERY early on that there were "Mommy and Daddy" rules and my rules and when I was in charge they followed my rules. Screen time is not only bad right before bed but bad for kids in general. I personally would say that if thats what daddy lets him do then when daddy is there let him do it otherwise when you are there its a no. It sounds to me like the parents don't want to deal with bed time (which is normal) and have found this as an easy way out.

No, I am not stupid! Unfortunately the violence is everywhere and so is the evil. But it is more drug related crimes, business gone bad, rape, jealousy, and just to b clear I am not saying those crimes are ok, but in America became very common crimes like the one that just happened. Kids go in a public place and start shooting, kids killing their parents, parents killing their kids, husbands killing their wives wives killing husbands, not even to mention those other very disturbing serial killing crimes. Lots of those crimes are committed by young kids, who happens to imitate something they saw on tv or games. It seems like in America there are a lot of mental health issues as they claim these criminals to be, or is it really the way the parents are raising their kids and letting the kids do whatever they want? Video game is unacceptable in my book.
