I went from toddler age to an infant, and I'm so bored I can't stand it. I tend to use my phone more than I should when we are at the house, but I'm more interactive when we are out. I can't wait until she starts becoming more of a little person and less of a little blob.

You might look into having hypothyroidism. It's a treatable disease that makes you sluggish/really tired all the time. You can google it for more information.

For me I would say it is that I am not very knowledgeable in the kitchen.

It is true, I am horrible at boiling water.

I am amazing in ALL other aspects so as long as I don't have to cook anything then all is good in my world. Lol.

Everyone "judges". Having no opinion about anything would be stupid.

Having an opinion and judging are two very different things.

Everyone has opinions, but only bitter and angry people judge that their opinions are superior to everyone else's.

I love working with infants, but as they get older and more mobile, I have a harder time figuring out how to structure the day as all they want to do go where they are not allowed to and it's hard to keep them engaged in anything else.

For those that don't cook:
I know it can be daunting when you're first starting out, but there are great resources out there for meals and snacks that require very little cooking.

A couple of PPs already posted my weakness: I have little to no patience with "adults" who act like children. Although I really have no desire to change that.

Another poster here who has pretty much unlimited patience for kids acting like kids and no patience for adults acting like kids. This involves judging my employers which I need to stop doing but it's really hard. Also as I get older, I wish I had the same energy levels as I did when I was thirty. Please, MBs and young nannies don't turn this into a "this is why you shouldn't hire older nannies" discussion. I'm just being honest. I have no trouble keeping up with a toddler. As far as the PP who says she can't cook, cooking for a toddler is easy. If you can boil water, operate a microwave and an oven you can prepare basic healthy meals for a young child.

I love pretend play.. and art.. but absolutely cannot STAND crafts. It's the most boring, brain melting waste of time to me to make turkeys our of empty milk cartons or wtf ever, which is a trial because it's apparently understood that all nannies love this stuff.

My other major shortcoming would be my memory. I actually have a good one, but whenever MB asks about the day or a potential employer asks about previous job experiences in an interview, I always go so blank. It makes me seem way less competent than I actually am.

I hate pretend play too. Thankfully, my charge is at an age (19 months) where it's just starting to emerge and I can lead her towards the kind of pretend play I actually can tolerate! This is one of the main reasons I prefer the 2 and under age group.
