+1 Wow you are so mature and with common sense something clearly lacking with posts on this thread. Your MB and charges are very lucky!!

If you’re not a troll, why did you resort to labeling? Seems like you wanted to pick a fight with millenials.
The same reason you labelled me a troll?

There's a lot of dumb nannies on this thread! How is the nanny in the backseat when she can't even see the kids??? Clearly the mom wanted nanny to come in for a reason and it wasn't to do chores while the family left the house with the kids alone. It was to do chores while the family played with the kids in the living room while the nanny could still hear what was happening and intervene in an emergency. Wow some of you need new jobs if you can't understand why the mom said to still come in to work yet be in the background.
Fuck off. There are mostly mothers who have nannies on this thread who agree with OP and find the mother's actions unconscionable.
We all knew you ugly nanny trolls would show up. You're late.
Nice language, you sound really professional and exactly the type to 'take a backseat' having a break at home while your charges (ie: responsibility) leave the house. Instead of using that language to express your feelings, why don't you explain to me why the mom would have the nanny come in at all that day, if she was okay having her family care for the kids unsupervised? If she was okay with her family being in charge she would have told the nanny to stay home. Backseat = Background, not 'gone'.
I am an MB, Fool. Clearly reading comprehension is not your strong suit.
And do we really need to explain this to you again? The grandmother - the MB's mother - told the nanny to stay home and do her chores while SIX ADULTS took the twins for a walk. That is taking a backseat. The six adults were not structuring the boys' day or making their meals or doing laundry.

To me that's common sense. I understand MB's frustration but the way she handled it was so wrong and she doesn't deserve OP.
I totally agree. MB very obviously didn’t handle this well, but probably assumed nanny realized that her family wasn’t experienced enough to deal with autistic twins alone outside. In OP’s position, I would never have just let them leave without me without confirming with MB. I do sort of wonder if there’s a very different version of this story from MB’s perspective.
You have got to be kidding. The MB told her to "take a backseat" and then right before the children went out, nanny asked to go with them and the Grandmother told the nanny to stay home and do "her chores". SIX ADULTS went with the twins for a walk. SIX. And you think OP should have called her MB at work to ask if she should insist she go with them?!
OMG - never. You are truly insane to think that the nanny here did anything wrong.
Just because there are more adults doesn't mean the kids are being supervised. Remember pool stories where everyone thought the other adults are keeping an eye on the kids?
Had this happen at a pool and the mother told the nanny to take a backseat and then the grandmother told her to stay home and do her chores and six adults took the kids to the pool and one drowned - it would not be the nanny's fault either.
Anonymous wrote:^ Nope, MB gave nanny three days off paid she clearly is okay paying when she doesn't need the nanny. Nanny was irresponsible and until she realizes her part nothing with change. "poor me", zero responsibility... millennial??
