Why is talking about nanny obesity, "trying to start a fight"?
For God's sakes, some of you have discussed DB's skid marks.
Why should nanny obesity be off-limits?
No nanny should EVER have to see her employer's skid marks or deal with the employer's dirty laundry. That's just disgusting.

I have two little girls. Our nannies have all be fit and athletic. Healthy eating has been an interview question. Would never ever expose my kids to someone 50 hours a week that could not control her eating.
This is all fine and well, but when your kids grow up to be bullies to those who do carry extra weight what will you think then? Are you at least teaching them that while it's unhealthy, that it doesn't make a person any less for being overweight or obese...because that's what's really important!
Of course, just because PP wants a healthy/fit nanny who exercises good eating habits for her children doesn't mean they will grow up to despise every fat person.
FYI, most people judge overweight people even if it's silent judgements. Have you seen those videos on Youtube where overweight people put hidden cameras on them and walk around just to see the looks they get from others. Very telling.

"While I don't condone being mean to people who are obese, we need to be honest that this is not a healthy situation and you are not without control over the situation.
Insulin resistance is caused by poor diet and exercise lifestyle choices.
You should not just accept that you are fat because you have insulin resistance. In fact, IR is a serious sign that your inability to manage your diet, exercise and weight balance is seriously affecting your health.
PP, don't you know PCOS is just an excuse? And Insulin Resistance? It's a big old lie fat people tell to make themselves feel better!

I was shocked by this also. Nannydeb is usually one of the sane, rational, helpful voices on the forum. This seems so out of character.
Oh gosh, I was absolutely being sarcastic! I thought I'd tossed a eye roll icon up, but now I see that I didn't.
I was trying (and apparently failing) to make an obviously sarcastic comment riffing off the "blame all the fat people" line running through this thread.
Sorry!
