How is the nanny in the backseat when she can't even see the kids??? Clearly the mom wanted nanny to come in for a reason and it wasn't to do chores while the family left the house with the kids alone. It was to do chores while the family played with the kids in the living room while the nanny could still hear what was happening and intervene in an emergency. Wow some of you need new jobs if you can't understand why the mom said to still come in to work yet be in the background.
Fuck off. There are mostly mothers who have nannies on this thread who agree with OP and find the mother's actions unconscionable.
We all knew you ugly nanny trolls would show up. You're late.

I totally agree. MB very obviously didn’t handle this well, but probably assumed nanny realized that her family wasn’t experienced enough to deal with autistic twins alone outside. In OP’s position, I would never have just let them leave without me without confirming with MB. I do sort of wonder if there’s a very different version of this story from MB’s perspective.
Yep I'd love to hear MB's version. Personally I'd rather MB get upset about me calling her at the office for confirmation the family could take the kids out, than just let them leave. The kids were the nanny's responsibility. If the mom was okay with the parents being full charge she would have told the nanny to stay home, but no she asked her to work even when there were many adults in the house. MB wanted nanny in the background in case there were issues, background means close by not leaving the kids to go out with the family alone. Nanny you messed up and need to take some responsibility instead of this poor me routine.

You have got to be kidding. The MB told her to "take a backseat" and then right before the children went out, nanny asked to go with them and the Grandmother told the nanny to stay home and do "her chores". SIX ADULTS went with the twins for a walk. SIX. And you think OP should have called her MB at work to ask if she should insist she go with them?!
OMG - never. You are truly insane to think that the nanny here did anything wrong.
Just because there are more adults doesn't mean the kids are being supervised. Remember pool stories where everyone thought the other adults are keeping an eye on the kids?

Anonymous wrote:I'm betting the MB will come back to OP begging her to return and trying to use stress as an excuse for her behavior. Plus, she will try to guilt OP by telling her the twins cry all the time for her. Don't fall for this OP.
