How will having her watch it on laptops prevent tantrums?
For some children at age 2 out of sight out of mind still works.
OP's daughter is likely one of these children where if she doesn't see it she probably won't tantrum. No tantrum easier day on nanny.
I'm not luck enough to have one of those children. My son once asked about and had a tantrum because he couldn't see Gymbo.
Gymbo is not in our house. We do nothing Gymboree related outside of Gymboree.
He decided he wanted it and would not accept that Gymbo was not in the house. Good times.
He's now grown out of that and I'm thinking we'll skip Gymboree for #2.

You can put a laptop away and out of the child's sight. It's a good idea, actually. When DD is overtired, she will often demand TV which is right there (hanging on the wall in the living room) staring her in the face. She wants it, I refuse, and a huge on-the-floor meltdown begins...
I wish someone (yes, I mean you, Nanny) had suggested something like this. We hired Nanny for her experience. What good is that if she never shares her experience with us?

Do you mean that there is a nanny out there who doesn't want to plop my kid in front of the TV so she can nap or text?! I never knew such a nanny existed!!!
Imagine that. And others claiming to be parents, recommend firing her.
Unbelievable.
+2 I agree and would add that I don't want a "yes man" either in my home or my work. I would love a nanny who had ideas of her own and thought through problems instead of just dumping them on my lap.
Woman should only speak when spoken to. This nanny over stepped, she way over stepped.
