Were you close with the kid and invited to a graduation celebration? If so I’d send $50 check or if going to celebration I’d take card with $50 in it.
If it’s just an announcement I’d be annoyed and send nothing.

You shouldn't send checks in the mail. It leaves you at risk of fraud. Banks and the USPS advise against it.
If you're mailing a gift card, don't put it in a regular envelope. People will feel that there's something inside and steal it.

A former nanny kid of mine is graduating. I just received the announcement in the mail. How much is appropriate to give them ? Do I send a check or a gift card ? I live out of state so I will be mailing the gift . What have other former Nannie’s done ?
