I hired a nursing student to help me with my infant twins during the evenings. $25/hr sounds right. It was a great arrangement.

This. And if my kid has SN or requires medical care, I'm not hiring a brand new nurse who doesn't have experience outside of clinicals.

There’s a big need for Night nurses for newborns. Agencies require experience though so I’d recommend volunteering at a hospital, through a religious org, or a community to get infant experience first. You could also try date nights for parents of infants or offer part-time day help while parent is on maternity leave to give them a break. You’ll need to offer a lower rate w no experience and build up over time. For no experience w RN, I’d say about $20-$25/hr and after you have a few references it will be easy to up it to $25-30.

With no infant experience, you're going to struggle to get a job, plus people with infants generally don't want part time.
I would recommend instead considering older kids. Lots of families want someone from like 3-6pm for their school aged kids and it can be REALLY hard to find someone for that window. If you could do that, I bet you could get $30 an hour, especially if you could commit through the end of the school year.
