We are looking to help our beloved nanny of 5 years find a new full-time position as the needs of our family have changed. I have recently transitioned to part-time work, and while it’s hard to part ways, we are eager to connect her with another wonderful family who will value her as much as we do.
She has over 20 years of experience caring for children and is truly exceptional — warm, nurturing, dependable, and especially gifted with infants. She lovingly cared for our third baby who had reflux and was very fussy, with incredible patience, calm, and expertise.
She is extremely reliable and trustworthy, which was essential to us as two full-time physicians. She consistently goes above and beyond — helping with family laundry, keeping the children’s areas clean and organized, doing grocery shopping, and even wrapping birthday presents for children’s parties. She has also traveled with our family and was an enormous help during those trips.
She drives and we always felt completely safe with her driving our children. She manages school and activity drop-offs and pick-ups with ease and is fantastic at handling busy schedules and transitions.
She also loves getting the kids outside and helped build a wonderful community of park friends and neighborhood playmates. Most importantly, our children absolutely adore her — and we do too.

Completely disagree. I've browsed some of these "top" agencies bragged about on DCUM. The families and candidate pools are nothing special.

The quality of candidates is just not there. We used to get lawyers who needed to pay off student loans and other college graduates. We don't have anyone with college degree right now or anyone will to work.
I had to come out of early retirement just to help out in May. Three of my ex employers are calling me every few months. Not sure if closing the borders is why there are no workers left.

$30hr isn’t what a high quality nanny would work for. That might be the issue.

What do you consider high quality? You need to probably pay more.

Hello! We are looking for a great nanny to take care of our six month old baby.

We have interviewed many nannies from facebook groups, referred by other families, nextdoor, here, etc, and we keep being disappointed. We seem to be not getting a good group of candidates, even though we have a pretty decent compensation package (vacation, holidays, guaranteed hours, $30/hr for one baby and no housekeeping, etc).

Where do high quality nannies look for jobs? How can we connect with them? Agencies seem ridiculously expensive so we'd rather not go that route.
