But yes make sure you + your prospective Nanny agree 100% on what household duties she will be expected to complete.

$30-40 an hour plus mileage or provide a car.

You'll want to be extremely clear and explicit on what you want with "light housework."
Make sure you are allowing the nanny to have a break during the naptime, as it's probably the only break she will get all day.

For a newborn you should be paying $30. And that is full time so you should expect to pay benefits as well.

What would be an appropriate hourly wage for this job description?

I live in Potomac, Md.
Looking for part-time nanny to start in Oct 2025. Care for one 6-week old child. Driving would be a great asset. English speaking. CPR/first aid certification. Up to 2 Years of experience. Hours 7am to 4pm weekdays. Lite housework when baby is sleeping.
