Is there any way that you can speak to your MB directly & see if anything changes first?
$14/HR is a very. low. wage considering you also have light housekeeping duties to do as well.
Even if it is all ca$h, it is still much too low.
Op here. It is low but it’s only for another month. I am a college student and need money to pay my school fees and books next semester. I have another job (not childcare) that begins at the end of August. I timed the extra bottles and clothes and it takes another 10 mins. I’m just going to hold onto it and make the best of the next few weeks. I think the guests will be leaving shortly so I should have less bottles and clothes to fold. I get soooooo bored and sleepy because I am in the babies room and it’s dark. I need to get a light to attach to a book.
Since you need the money and they are conveniently close, tough it out for the month if you want but don’t do the extra laundry. Put it aside in a basket. My nanny does this with any laundry that is not DD’s since sometimes we throw our extra laundry in a load to save water if there is room. If they comment about it, tell them you only do your charge’s dishes and laundry. They know they got a great setup with having you do early mornings for only $14 and are not going to rock the boat.

Anonymous wrote:Quit. You could wash the clothes yourself, but they put them in the wash and dryer so technically you aren't doing your job. You are getting paid. You can wash bottles and fold laundry.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:You just complained about them texting you late to come in earlier in your other post. Perhaps this isn’t the position for you obviously you’re not happy. Me personally id pick whatever out that’s the babies and leave the other kids things in the dryer. If they ask tell them other kids laundry wasn’t part of the agreement. I think it’s best tho to cut your losses and move on especially at that less than minimum wage rate.
Op here. I think you’re right and I notice a difference between this job and the job where I am paid $25 an hour. For me it’s just the principle and no discussion or increase in pay. It’s so odd. This is a cash job though. There’s no way I would accept this rate if I paid taxes. It’s so little hours and with low pay I barely make $200 a week. I timed it yesterday and it took me 5 mins to wash the toddler bottles and another 10 to fold her clothes. If I don’t say anything now I will say something before I give notice. I have already told them I have college in August. They will need a nanny at some point soon and they won’t be able to keep one if they keep this up.
Even paying cash I wouldn’t accept a 14$ an hour job.

I wouldn’t be all that bothered by a random bra or another kids clothes though personally.
Where is the toddler while you are working and have the baby?
