She's our former nanny now (after 7 years with us) but we still see her regularly.

What I most loved about her (and told her regularly and talked at length about when providing references for her) was:
- her unfailing honesty. We trusted her fully and totally and she never once betrayed that trust.
- her focus on safety for the kids. Safety first and always, and we never worried when they were in her care.

Those were the two biggest things. Also, she always respected our decisions and wishes, even if our ways weren't necessarily what she would have done. She loves our kids - her empathy and compassion for them was tangible and so appreciated. She was reliable - never flaked out on us or was persistently late, never left us in the lurch.

We told her those things all the time.

There were also things we worked on, and we talked about them also. But she was great for our family and will always be connected to us.

That I can tell she really loves my children it’s not just a job . And maybe not as much as I should:/
