FMLA is just job protection- says that an employer can't fire an employee for being out for a medical issue. It does not require the employer to pay the employee, just to hold the job. It does not apply to employers with fewer than 50 employees

She lives in VA, we live in DC. I need to figure out FMLA and DC leave and I don't know where to start.
