The family I work for hates when I take off so I rarely do. Today is a snow day the dad is at work but the mom is home and working but the roads where I live aren’t cleared yet so I explained that via text and I got no response. This is a normal thing they do if I’m sick and I call out they do not respond, so many times I go in still when I’m not feeling great. All of the times I’ve been sick it was from them but they don’t care. They make me feel guilty a lot. When I first started the dad got Covid gave it to me and the mom asked me to come in, I didn’t of course. Then a year later same thing the mom caught Covid gave it to me asked me to come in after a few days. I once loved working there now lately I just feel unappreciated and if I bring anything up to the mom she says I’m disrespectful. It’s just a lot.

The DC government workers had to report to their job on time yesterday, and not even with a delay. What would make your job any different? You sound entitled and just because you're dealing with families on an emotional level as the subject is their child, you want to guilt them to give you what is unreasonably favorable for only you.
Parents hire nannies exactly for these moments to have back up care.
In cases like this, if the government shuts down and most offices close, then it's understandable. But if the local government employees have to show up at work, daycare workers have to show up, and private local companies & stores are open, then they have every right to expect the same from you.
You sound just like one of these “ENTITLED AF PARENTS” if the roads are not safe for her to get to work then the family can go screw themselves. Nannies, teachers, babysitters, daycare attendants are people too and it’s sad how low some of you parents think of them. The family she works for sound self absorbed and to tell a nanny to come to work with Covid that you gave her should be against the law and what if she has a family member with medical issues that she passes that too then what?! People like you and the family she works for is why the world is how it is.
