It is up to the nanny to tell you what she will charge. You can tell her you will pay a dollar more per hour for twice as much work and you can wave bye bye because she will find another job.

Considering how much work is involved in caring for a newborn infant (the constant feeding/diaper changing/crying/holding/rocking/etc.) plus the added physical as well as mental energy involved I would say just an extra dollar an hour would not be adequate.

Assuming you are paying the Nanny her FT rate with the older child is now in preschool I think $1 an hour extra is fine.
She’s been getting a paid break 3 days a week. At some point older child will be in school 5 days a week… you don’t cut the pay.
