I’m new in the nanny industry. I was a daycare teacher with a Bachelor degree. I have been a nanny for 4 years now. My first family was treating me well and I worked 3 years with them. The first year, they gave me 10% of my yearly bonus and the two other years 15%. Now, I’m working with a new family with over than a year now. The first 2 months was Christmas and they gave me one week of my pay. So, for this Christmas I was expecting at least 10% of my salary. I’m very disappointed! I really go above and beyond. I cook and bake for the whole family and sometimes I do babysat fort them at night without a pay for 2 or 3 hours a week. I organized the children birthdays ( decorations, homemade cake, waffles etc) I even go for the birthday celebration during the weekend. I don’t know if I’m taking it personally but I feel that I deserve it. I have asked other Nannies and some told me they got 10% or 15% for high profile families and other said 1 or 2 weeks of bonus and others said $500. I’m from France and usually in the professional field people get the 13th month which is 1 month of bonus. What do you all think and do I need to approach the family?
Thank you
