In my first year I had:
Nanny share - two girls ( 1 and 1.5 years old), I live close by about 15 mins walk
39hours a week, $30/h, 2 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, major federal holidays paid.
Unpaid the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, week between Christmas and New Year, most of federal holidays (I do have a choice - either work or have it unpaid). I don’t get random day off (I believe I had only 1) or even get off early - but I’m guessing that’s the nature of nanny shares.
I’m 40years old with tons of experience, working several years for the same families.
I do have to admit this is the job that gives me the least perks in my whole career. I took it because I loved the hours and location. Both families are fantastic, the girls are super sweet so would love to keep the job but don’t want to feel underpaid!
Location?
No commuting expenses = a big perk.
