Did you bother to read the article? At all?

"The deal was that we’d pay for her travel, her hotel room etc. and she could enjoy free time during the day while looking after our son in the evenings so my wife and I can enjoy some time alone."

"We had three trips booked when we made this arrangement with her and she happily committed to all three."

"We booked our nanny a seat in Delta Comfort+"
https://upgradedpoints.com/travel/airlines/delta-comfort-vs-delta-first-class/
Legroom
Comfort+ up to 4 inches more
First class up to 8 inches more

Complimentary snacks or meals
Comfort+ Premium snacks, meals on long-haul international and select domestic flights
First class Fine dining options* *Based on flight distance

It doesn't say anything about an 8 hour flight anywhere in the article. Where did you get that information? Where did you read "no prospects of entirely free days"? Where does it say anywhere that the nanny would hate the food?

The only thing that makes any sense in your post is that the family should have discussed the trip in more detail with the nanny first.

Our nanny would quit and take this gig in a heartbeat. This nanny is being ridiculous.

She probably also doesn't get paid during the travel time too. Plus, its not a vacation and she's away from home.

At the same, she’s not family. She’s an employee. If the trip was otherwise a good deal for her (lots of free time, paid plane tickets, paid accommodations) she should’ve adjusted her mindset.

It's not a good deal for her. Maybe she doesn't want to go. People assume that they want to go and that's not always the case. Its not a vacation, she's going to work.

She is flying for work. They were clear she was working and kind enough to give her a bit of time off (how generous when they probably aren't paying her extra for travel and other stuff). They changed their place of employment and they should provide the same transportation level as they take, as well as a good room, food and every other expense. This is not a vacation, this is work for her.

It was actually the other way around. She was watching the kid only in the evenings so the parents could have nights out. She was completely free during the days. And a 3 yr old is probably in bed asleep by 8pm at the latest, so she wasn't doing much - maybe three hours a day of actual work. She was trying to be greedy.

No, she's probably watching the kid from 5PM to 11PM to much later and even if the child is sleeping it's not like she can leave or do something and has to be there. She's not greedy. This is her job. She easily could be watching the kid 8-10 hours in the evenings.

Nanny is acting entitled. A friend of mine used to work as an assistant to a celebrity. None of the entourage sat in first class.

I think they should treat her the sane they would treat a relative or friend they were taking. If they were all in first class it’s rude they didn’t do the same for her.

An angry nanny can harm your child. Time to part ways ASAP.

The reason behind the anger does not matter; you do not want an upset employee taking care of your child.

Given how wealthy they are it's a bit odd to do that. She should have gotten first class.

Nanny is incensed that parents and child flew first class on a family vacation and put the nanny in Comfort+. Love this board so want your opinion.
