test kids evening and morning, if negative, ask nanny if she is comfortable to come.

First make sure you are following the guidance of your doctor / CDC. If your family doesn’t need to quarantine, and the kids are ok to be around others (masked), then I think it’s reasonable to expect her to work. But, I’d give her a choice. Some people are really uncomfortable around Covid or can’t take chances. But in general I think if the kids are masked and aren’t required to isolate, yeah I’d be ok working under those conditions.

We have a new after school nanny - it’s been 2 weeks - and this morning our middle kid tested positive for covid. Nanny hadn’t really spent time with her since Monday, she was negative on Weds but stayed home sick and nanny didn’t work Weds.

Nanny didn’t come in today, I told her not to, but she is supposed to come Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday next week. I paid her today for the week including today.

When I told her about dd she was sympathetic and I said I hoped she doesn’t get sick and she had a kind response but I’m unsure how to handle next week - and this is just assuming only one of my three kids is sick. Middle dd is allowed to return to school in a mask next Weds if she’s better, and siblings can go to school masked through next week. Is it ok to ask the nanny to do her regular hours next week? Or should I ask her to just take my other kids to their activities outside of the house but not ask her to come in our home?

Obviously I can ask her but I don’t want to overstep with my ask. This hasn’t been an issue with us in the past as we had an au pair who lived with us during our he entire pandemic.
