Are you taking any time off for the birth of your child? If so, you care for newborn and have ap take care of older kids.

ap can still take care of the other kids, I do not see any issue there, just get a nanny for the baby. I do not believe this post is real anyway, no one uses ap for infant care no matter if they are "certified" or not. You cannot learn about babies from online classes.

Hello OP! This happened to me with my third child. My Cultural Care all pair was not infant qualified, and there was no way for her to become infant qualified given we were in the midst of the pandemic. Also, the hours required to become infant qualified is quite high and if I remember correctly, there really wasn’t a way that she could become infant certified. It turned out that she was also interested in exploring another part of the country for the 2nd Year. The baby was due towards the end of her term, as in she has just a month or so left off her first year. She ended up matching with a family in California for the second year and our our Pair committed to staying with us until the baby came. It turned out that I needed to have an emergency C-section, and as soon as I went to the hospital, the agency arranged for a flight to leave a week earlier than the planned departure date. We still kept in touch with her fabulous up here and she will be visiting us next week! It can still be a good experience for everyone involved, even if the year ends up being shorter than originally planned. I forgot to mention that, even though she was looking for a second of your family in the system, it was listed as a rematch because she left prior to the completion of her first year and that’s how they are system is set up to handle these things, even though it is not technically a rematch.

Congrats to OP - I have no useful advice other than this situation must come up fairly often, no? Hopefully LCCs are experienced with this scenario and can counsel the family and AP?

Agree that agency won't force AP to rematch right away, but AP herself may start thinking about what may or may not work for her. It's my understanding that no agency allows AP to be care for infants younger than 3 months, so between your new pregnancy and the 3 months after birth, chances are she won't need to care for the new baby at all during her year. But she may not want to be in a house with 4 young kids, regardless of how you all divide up the labor. You need to tell her soonish and see if together you can figure out a plan.

Agency will not force AP to rematch until the baby is born, but they will strongly recommend AP start looking and rematch now. Depending on how the AP takes the news, you could be out an AP shortly after she finds out - she wants to be able to finish her year successfully, maybe to extend for year 2, and also be in one place to build friendships.

Only had AP 2 months. My kids are 8, 5, and 3 but not sure why that matters.
