Ask the nanny, not us. Overnight rates vary from $50-200, depending on what the hourly rate is.

We discussed with our nanny and this was her fee. She has been a professional nanny for 20 years if that helps.

Does this mean hourly rate for hours baby is awake or hourly rate for all 24 hours plus the $100?

Hourly until bedtime, then $100-150 overnight. You have to consider if it’s a weekend, that nanny can get a sat night booking for more than $100 and not have to sleep at your house. I charge hourly and then $150 for overnights in a HCOL city.

You are way, way undercharging. That was the going rate 20 years ago. Up your rates- your time is valuable!

The flat rate is for the actual sleeping hours. The standard is regular hourly rate (plus any applicable overtime) for all awake hours and a flat $100/night for overnight hours. So if you are gone Friday at 5pm to Sunday at 12pm, your nanny makes $25hr, and your kid sleeps 8pm-7am you would pay:

Awake hours
Friday: 3
Saturday: 13
Sunday: 5
21 hours x $25 = $525

Plus 2 overnights x $100 = $200

So $725 total

What flat rate would you pay a nanny to stay overnight? We are thinking of going out of town for a weekend and I have heard most Nannie’s accept a flat rate for overnights. It is one child.
