It’s too bad you can’t tell them the reason you are quitting. Parents like this always blame the kids for the nanny leaving.

When you did all these extras once. It was once too many. If it isn't in your contract. Don't do it. Now would be a good time to find a new job before the new kid gets here. I shudder to think of the job creep then.

OP, while I believe giving notice is always the professional way to go - I also believe that if you feel as if your personal health is being negatively impacted it may be best for you to simply quit on the spot.

This is why I don't start helping around the house with housekeeping chores that are not related with the childcare. Just a a couple of months and Families started to take advantage of me. Leaving every single thing in the sink, full of dirty dishes everyday, including theirs, waiting for me load and unload the dishwasher. Also leaving the trash overflowing; waiting for me to do it (treating me like their Housekeeper and maid) and they didn't want to lift a finger even cleaning up after themselves; thinking it was my responsibility which was not.
Every Monday it was a nightmare and a huge mess for me to clean up everything. Exactly like you, all dirty clothes on the floor; which they were not even able to put them into the baskets.
So OP. A good advice, Quit. Or you will be having a burn out that could take you to the hospital. Take care of yourself and start looking for a new Job. That it's the best decision that you could make. Your health should be the most important thing for you.. Good luck.

OP, you do not have to touch the dishwasher or worry about trash at all, they will never actually ask you to do it if you just ignore the mess. I am a nanny and would never bother to go beyond child related duties. I know it would burn me out too soon. You let them use you, OP, so your option is to leave or to keep the job but stop doing housework and have an honest conversation that it does not work for you, doing all those extra things.

Recruiter made sure I got my 2 weeks paid and expenses check overnight.
