Agreed, and I would add that 4) lots of families let their nannies go when the youngest kid enters school, so it may also be there are more candidates than usual, for the same number of jobs. There's not much seasonality in having a new baby and needing a nanny, but there's fairly strong seasonality on the other end.

Call these two agencies:Nanny Poppinz or White House Nannies; if you have all the qualifications and verified references along with letter of recommendations you’d be placed within a month.

July-Sept is always the time the market is flooded with back to school jobs

If you are not in a rush; take your time to find your perfect position, If you are looking for full time. We are just exactly at the end of summer; lots of families are still settling down when they are ready to look for their nanny; now when September is coming. But if you are just looking just for a couple of hours, after school help there are too many. But it's hard someone wants to stay like that, basically working just 15 hours a week; adding the commute back and forth for just 3 hrs. Take a nice breath and good things come when it's the right time.

I know it's hard to wait, but great thing comes in the right time. But could
just tell you Just, Just don't take any job even when you feel it's not a good fit; and something it's not just right, and you are not completely sure and happy about everything. Trust in your heart. Personally, I'm taking my time to find my Full time job what and what I really want in a Family, what kind of position it would be, what kind of environment, location and which kind of Family I will love to work.

I also noticing fewer infant jobs, what is up? Even on this forum, it is afterschool mostly.

Agency placed me within 2 months. Interviewed with 4 families before but i could not accept the rate. Now glad i didn't. Can not agree about vaccination, most are not in a hurry to vaccinate toddlers. With infants, i think many moms are staying home longer because of covid, they dont want strangers in the house. Those who do want nannies are working with agencies.

OP, Are you looking for something specific?

Such as a position w/a newborn??

It may take a little more time to secure a position if you are looking for a specific type of position - however just remain patient & I am sure something will come up very soon.

Perhaps you can try registering w/a reputable Nanny agency for quicker results.

I think there are jobs.. but I most of the time, rates are very low and both parents still working from home; which makes the environment very hard and sometimes stressful for the nanny, where they are not planning to set clearly and nice boundaries for both parties.

Now it's take a little more time when you decide accept an offer, when you are not completely sure or happy, how do you want to perform your Job and what kind on environment will be. Lots of things around.

Takes time, but I'm sure all of us will find the perfect match soon.

I have a degree and 20 years experience. I’m looking here and care.com and am only coming across PT after school jobs. FT positions with newborns seem to be nonexistent. Maybe just try again in October to find something. I’m not in a rush I’m employed just looking for something else.

I think it depends of what you are looking for. All nannies are looking for different things and have different expectations. I have been talking with several families on the phone but mostly none of the position they are offering is not what I am looking for. Be patient and keep in mind; searching for the right family it takes time, but you will.

Trying to secure a position and it seemed like a few months ago there were plenty of jobs. Now I can’t even find one. When will it pick back up or has the market dried out? Just getting frustrated trying to find something
