Agreed(I’m also a nanny).

+3. Another nanny here who normally sides with the nanny on this forum and IRL but not in this case.

Nonsense. Our nanny is safety conscious and would never drive my kids without being properly buckled in. When I’m driving with nanny in the car, she tells me to slow down!

Most of us don’t live in an area where not driving is even an option. My kids would miss out on so much! Maybe if we lived in NYC it would be feasible.

Mom here. I would never be a reference. If she isn’t buckling the kid in properly, what other safety measures is she not doing? Buckling the stroller harness, the baby bouncer, leaving kid unattended, etc. Clearly this nanny has poor judgment and doesn’t take safety seriously.

Nanny here- I’m sorry this is happening to you.
The use of a seatbelt is extremely important and she should definitely be extra careful about making sure your child is buckle at all times.
As a mom myself I feel this would be a problem for me also.
You gave her enough evidence and chance to make a better choice and be a little more professional.
You should fire her.Yes.

Yea you have to fire immediately. Once shame on her twice shame on you. You will never forgive yourself if something happens.

I agree w/the other posters on here who are advising you to fire this Nanny.

She not only is ignoring your instructions but she is also compromising your child’s safety as well.

I would issue her her walking papers stat.

Good luck.

The unbelievable part is that you come to an anonymous chat room and ask if you should fire someone who doesn't keep your child safe.
