Pay the health stipend, no matter what her intention was, in this situation it's best to take the kindest road and not make a decision out of anger or disappointment.

We just paid the full month. It's not that much money.

We paid our former nanny’s healthcare insurance until the end of the month and her last day was within the first week of the month. It’s just the right thing to do. Healthcare is generally paid monthly.

I'd pay the month out and have a clean break. Please don't fill this position with this structure again. It's not going to be sustainable long term for anyone.

I would probably just pay the full month to end on the best terms possible so she’ll still come see my kids to make the transition easier for them.

Our nanny recently gave us notice as required in our contract and her last day is the middle of the month. As part of our contract, we pay a monthly stipend for her health insurance. The contract doesn’t specify what would happen in the event she quits mid-month. How have people handled such situations? We are not ending on the best of terms as we structured her contract so she could make the same amount of money every pay period even though she was working less hours during the school year and would work more over the summer. Her last day is just a couples of weeks shy of summer break.
