Cash. They want money for studies (or depending on their home country, to support their parents), They have 1000000 photos of your kids on their phones. They do not want keepsake albums (or they will make their own, better, bedazzled versions). Just give them a white envelope with cash or western union them cash.

Is he doing a travel month? We did a keepsake book with pictures that were taken during the year. He was traveling so we also did a photo album with gift cards to his favorite places in a few of the picture pockets. Of course cash is nice, but it's pretty impersonal and is quickly spent. If you had a good year together, there will be a time later in life where pickign up the keepsake book or photos will be a nice moment for someone to reflect on past experiences.
