OP, if she is interested in working in Alexandria, we are looking for someone and we are willing to pay a competitive rate.

After school nannies can pretty much call the shots since they’re so in demand. She has a great teaching background and I doubt she’ll have a hard time getting a job. If she doesn’t have it, she should take the full day pediatric first aid and CPR course at the Red Cross. She can include the certificate with her references.

Maybe a couple short term nanny gigs before she starts looking.

The best and most reliable after school nanny I have ever know is a preschool teacher who was off at 2 and her school is very close to her charge’s elementary school. She has never once been late sand has never had a short-notice sick day (the few times she was sick she knew in the morning and didn’t teach that day and it happened only one or twice). Also an older woman who raised two kids of her own.

This woman has been my children’s Music Together teacher for over eight years but the pandemic has put her in a financial hole and she needs to supplement her music teaching income. She’s interested in becoming an after school nanny so she can keep teaching during the day. She has a college degree in music and is a wonderful teacher and great with the children. She’s raised two new teen daughters.

What would she need and how would she start becoming a nanny?

Thank you.
