Don't worry about it it just benefits them financially but it doesn't help you at all. Good luck and always question everything because when it comes to money, unfortunately people are not honest.

Meaning you have to file your taxes at the end of the year and pay the IRS what you owe. If not both of you are breaking the law. By the way they don't claim you because you are an adult working for them. They can use your information with permission to state how much they pay for child care.
I wanted to get paid through a payroll when I started the job. They said they wanted to do everything under table so I agreed.
So basically they wanted a cheap way to pay you without paying taxes, your retirement and any type of medical insurance for you. Are they paying you decent amount for the work that you're doing and are you happy with your job? Also, how do you file your taxes? Meaning do you put their information on your taxes or just State how much you made for the year?
I work 5 hours for 3 kids . Ages 1,3,5 paid $22 an hour. I just file jointly with my husband but say no income for me.
Ok. It makes perfect sense for them to pay you under the table. Shame on them. $22 an hour for three kids is really low. I just hire someone to watch my two kids two and three four eight hours a day at $28 per hour and I thought I was paying low. Please if you are here legally and you have no problem with the IRS. I advise you to look for new job with less kids for the same amount that you're getting paid but even more. Childcare is highly look for needed right now because parents are going to work and they need full-time help. Also, you're losing out by not claiming your income individually or with your husband if you have kids of your own. The earned income credit is available for everyone that makes under $45,000 per year, if I'm not mistaken.
This is exactly what I thought! I was getting paid too cheap. Going forward what would you advise me to do with this whole situation of them wanting to claim a lower amount of what they actually pay me for 2021. Like I mentioned above we have already done our 2021 taxes and they are in process. This is why I wish they would have gave me an update on this way before so I would have known.
Tell them absolutely no! You stated that you already did your taxes with your husband and you did not put any income for you. If the IRS see your information on your boss's taxes, you will get audited with your husband every single year plus you will all penalty for lying on your taxes. If your boss wants to claim your income every year. They must pay you through payroll or give you a check every payday and keep record of it. Also, you must file with your husband or by yourself stating how much you got paid and pay the IRS every 3 months or at the end of the year. Please seek someone to help you with your taxes starting next year.
