Subject: Babysitter coming, toddler has a cold
I have a similar-aged kid in daycare and we do weekly babysitter date nights. I let the sitter decide and give them a heads up. Often I will do an at-home rapid covid test just to rule it out.
The sitters in my regular rotation work in offices in person for their "day jobs" and are healthy people so they are willing to take at least some risk. Sometimes I put the child to bed ahead of when they arrive (so they are just looking at a monitor screen) to minimize physical contact.
If the kid is feverish or sick enough to be out of school, I cancel.

Should I cancel the babysitter because of child's cold?
If you should ethically dispose with all outside childcare when they're even mildly sick, how do families manage with children who are sick often from daycare? Ain't nobody got that many sick days!
Your kid could have covid and you have no problem in exposing the babysitter? Have you no scruples. Yes. You can cancel and do so with enough time for her to find another job. Otherwise, you pay her for two hours

Normally I will not cancel but because of COVID, definitely cancel or have the babysitter decide herself.
